FAQS

Ask Us Anything

Do I have to have a meet and greet?

Yes, the meet and greet is an important part of the process. That is a time to make sure that we have all of the information we need to provide the best care for your pet, confirm we have all specifics for access to your home, and for you to meet the primary walker or sitter, and your pet to meet their new caregiver and start a relationship. This is also a good time for you to express any comments, concerns or special needs. Ensuring we are the right fit for each other is an important step.

What training or screening do your pet sitters and dog walkers go through?

You, your pet, and our care givers safety is our top priority. All of our employees go through background checks and we require that all of our care givers have Cat and Dog first aid training. If your pet requires medications, we will go through those details at the meet and greet. All of our walkers and sitters are also certified as professional pet sitters and dog walkers through testing by a third party organization.

Are you insured?

Yes! We are fully insured and bonded.

Will you walk my dog in bad weather?

Our walkers work rain or shine, but there are a few exceptions. If there is lightning in the area, we will take the dog out for a bathroom break, but not a full walk. The rest of the session will be an indoor play session for the safety of the walker and your pet. For hot and cold weather, we use a matrix that uses temperature, your dogs breed/size, and walking surface to assess the risk to your pet. The walk might be shorter due to heat or cold, but the remainder of the time will be used as an indoor or backyard play session. And finally rain, we have good rain gear and will walk in the rain as long as there is no lightning. If you would like your dog to stay dry, we can take them for a quick potty break and then an indoor play session. If you don't mind them getting wet, we can take them on a slightly shorter walk, leaving enough time to dry them when we get home, we just ask you leave us a towel to dry them off. If you would like your dog walked in the rain we recommend getting them a rain jacket to minimize how much drying will be required.

Do your home visits cover anything else?

While we are watching your pet and keeping them safe, we will also watch your home. We can take care of several small tasks while we are there to check up on your pet. Some examples include opening or closing the blinds or taking in the mail or garbage cans. This is included in our price and will help your home look lived in while you're away.

How many dogs can you walk at once?

Dogs are pack animals, and even dogs that don't usually play well with others can walk great as part of a pack. If the dogs know each other and are well behaved, we can walk several at once. If the dogs are not well trained and acquainted with the other dogs, a smaller group, or solo walk might be required. This a situational and part of the reason for the meet and greet to start our relationship.

Are dog required to be up to date on vaccinations?

Dogs are required to be current on their shots, especially if you would like your dog to be in a group setting like a group walk or dog park. Safety is a top priority for us and your pet.

My pet needs to go to the vet or groomer. Will you take them?

We will absolutely take your loved one to the vet, groomer, or any other appointment they might have. No need for you to take a day off work just to cart them around for an hour. Depending on the appointment type, we can wait with your pet or drop them off and pick them up later. For any appointment your pet has, you must have a card on file with that service. We can not pay for a service and be reimbursed.

What areas do you cover for walking and home visits?

We currently cover Pequannock, Pompton, Lincoln Park, Boonton, and Wayne. We are always looking to become your pets next best friend though, so if you're close to the area, reach out and we will see what we can do.

Do you offer a first responder discount?

As a first responder, we proudly offer a 10% first responder and military discount.

Do you deal with rare or exotic pets?

While we don't have a tremendous amount of experience with exotics pets, we have looked after some reptiles and birds in our careers. Living on a farm as a child in Costa Rica, I do have some experience with live stock and horses as well.
